It is amazing how such a big area as Iceland in m2, just 300k population and 7.500 km nearby the North Pole can make you feel lots of feelings. It was like being in wonderland.
Iceland has touch my heart. Unforgettable, amazing, heart beating in any corner and being spechless so many times.
I highly recommend to hire a 4×4 or even take tours (they have such a big offer and variety, and always super flexible), depends on the season. Always bear in mind the weather, depends on what you want to visit or see.
Reyckavick is small but really nice city and you can walk around easily, except because of the ice LOL.
I took some tours by boat to see the whales and night excursion to see the aurora borealis. Everyone dreams of seeing them, prying so much time, day after day,… checking the weather and forecast.
I was so lucky every single night we saw them that I could not believe it. If I can just suggest only one thing, please leave the camera away, enjoy that second/s and/or minute/s as you don´t know when will be the next time.
I highly recommend go to the Blue Lagoon, in the pure heart of the landscape under -4º outside, and you need to put your swimsuit on, go out and WOW you get into a geothermal spa hot water pool that the feeling is so good that you don´t want to leave.
The south east area you can visit the Skófagoss and Seljalandsfoos waterfalls, the black sand beach, glaciers.
I hope all above cheer you up to visit this amazing country.
I recommend to wear really high quality and thermal clothes, like my coat from Canada Goose.
“Collect moments, not things”
Puedo decir que Islandia, orgullosamente, es un lugar que realmente ha tocado mi corazón. Inolvidable, impresionante, mi corazón latía en cada rincón, estuve sin habla en tantos momentos.
Impresionante lugar en m2, alrededor de 300 mil habitantes y a tan solo 7.500 km del Polo Norte, pueda hacerte sentir todos esos sentimientos de una vez. Fué como haber estado en el mundo de las maravillas.
Os recomiendo alquilar un coche 4×4 o bien con tours donde encontrarás mucha oferta, no hay problemas para ello. Sólo uno, el clima, hay que tener mucho cuidado con él, tanto con coche como para planear los tours.
Reyckavick es una ciudad pequeña, muy agradable y a la hora de transporte super accesible incluso andando. Excepto otra vez más, por el hielo jajaja (más de alguna pasó más tiempo en el suelo).
Yo cogí la opción de los tours tanto para ver ballenas y por la noche para ver las auroras boreales. Todos vamos allí soñando con ellas, estuve los días anteriores rezando y viendo el pronóstico día tras día.
Tuve mucha suerte la verdad, todas las noches vimos auroras, no me lo creo aún. Si sólo os puedo aconsejar una cosa, seria dejar las cámaras apartadas, disfrutad de ese segundo o minuto porque no sabes cual será la próxima vez.
Os super recomiendo ir al Blue Lagoon, un spa geotermal en el medio de la nada. Recuerdo a -4º poniéndome el bañador para salir fuera y meterme en esa maravilla de agua super caliente. ¡Guau! no querrás salir de ahí.
Recomendable el sureste de la isla, estuve visitando las cataratas Skófagoss y Seljalandsfoos, la playa de arena negra y los glaciares.
Espero que todo esto os haya animado para ir a esta maravilla de país.
Os recomiendo llevar ropa buena que abrigue y térmica, mi abrigo es de Canada Goose.
